A few weeks ago I visited the salvage store and saw a unique motorbike. It had an engine mounted on the front wheel, a step through frame, and pedals, like a usual bicycle. It was $250 dollars and hadn't run since 1980 or so. And it seemed like a big project, no way it would run without a complete mechanical overhaul. And I didn't need any more projects. There's simply no space and no money for something like this. So of course I went back two weeks later with $220 and bought the bike. I kinda just shoved it into my trunk with the seats folded down and tied the trunk lid onto it. On the way home it leaked forty year old leaded gas that had partially turned into varnish.

There's a lot wrong with it. A short list:
Piston seized
Carburetor filled with dirt
Air cleaner assembly missing
Various damage to electrical system
Brake caliper bolt missing
Fuel tank full of congealed gas
Spark plug frozen in place
Everything that once moved is covered in rust and old hardened grease, including internal enguine parts

I love it so much though. This is possibly the best decision I have ever made. There's nothing on this list I can't fix. Nothing I wouldn't find a lot of joy in fixing. It's a beautiful machine and I'm so happy I finally have a motorbike.
