This site is a collection of my favorite things. I don't really know what else to call it. Not many people in my life share my passion for these subjects, so I figure I'll scream into the void and hope someone answers. If just one person looks through this collection of pages when it's completed and says to themselves "wow, that's really cool. this person gets me." then I will consider this project a success.

I had to put at least one image here. Just for myself. So here's my favorite painting.

It's titled "Steamship Austria of Lloyd Company During Storm." Sadly I could never find the artist. I love the colors, especially the incredibly deep blue, so dark it's almost black, below the surf of the waves. This contrasted with the white of the ship's superstructure, and the beams of daylight struggling to permeate a dense cloud cover, cement the impression of a ship stranded in the most inhospitable environment. It's a beacon of safety, but a tenuous one. The ship's engine exhales black smoke as it pulls its crew toward an invisible shoreline. At least, that's what I get from it. I'm no expert.

A few of my interests, I guess (stuff to look out for if I can actually make this work)

• Restoration of vintage and antique machinery. I have a lot of "projects" strewn about my home
• My various absurd collections, such as clocks
• Architecture, mostly early 20th century, 19th century and prev
• Music, I play the piano inconsistently, but I listen constantly. I also have blueprints on hand for musical instruments I'd like to build
• Piano technology, that is, the engineering and carpentry aspects of pianos people don't often think about. I love old tall uprights.
• The concepts of beauty and decay, their relation to each other and myself, how I have struggled to voice my exact thoughts about these things for my entire life, and why they're so important to me.

About Me

My name is M. I'm a 24 year old woman living on the northeast coast of North America. I am in a loving (gay) relationship. I am no longer in a relationship. I hope I will be happy someday. Obsessed with abandonment and decay, the passage of time, and mortality. I love the cold and the rain.

This project is still active as of June 2024. It began in December 2023.
